Good Stuff Happens When You Go BIG

by Susan on February 9, 2010

Wow- it’s February already. That means HOMEdigz has been up for 10 months. It’s been an interesting experiment (is that the right word?).  People are happy to register and get listed on the Business Directory, but hesitant to talk to each other.

Why? My Hypothesis:

  • The ability to each other is not enough of a pull for participation.
  • We need a slicker home page that can be widgetized to the gills.  Think WP on steriods.
  • We need value-added content beyond conversations.

And let me again interject my purpose for this site…it needs to make money.

So where do I go from here? Well, to the members directly. I need to better understand what motivates them, what they like, and where we are falling short. I’m planning a big relaunch of the site in April.  If I know what is of value to members, I can develop a tiered membership structure that has a free membership option, and a paid premium membership that provides true value to subscribers.

Wow. That’s a big challenge seeing how I don’t have much time to work on it these days. But having the vision, I’m finding myself multi-tasking much more efficiently at home (when I am here). And since good stuff only happens when you do big things, I’m not going to settle.

I’m goin’ big ya’ll.  Stay tuned!
