I think I’ve crossed the line of acceptable multi-tasking.
During my lunch break at work, I participated in a conference call for HomeGoods (our monthly call) while trolling the aisles at Toys R Us for a Barbie Glamour Camper Van for my daughter’s 5th birthday.
When I first walked down the very pink aisle, I saw 2 left (there were none available online). Two loud women came down the aisle so I quickly escaped to the Bikes area since I was still on my call. After a minute, I went back to the pink aisle, and now only one was left!
I leaped into mommy action mode, grabbed the last one and hurried to the checkout. Using amateur sign language, I let the clerk know that I was on a call but wanted to quickly pay for the toy and get out. I drove back to the office as I finished up the call.
I have to ask myself – is all this multi-tasking healthy?
