Facebook Friend Pruning

by Mom on November 16, 2011

Maybe it’s the temperamental weather, but I’m in the mood to simplify my Facebook experience.  I have many many many “friends” who I know remotely through the staging industry.

While it’s a great way to network, I realize that I don’t really know any of them. I accepted their friend requests simply because we had 50+ friends in common. But what good is it to stand at the kool aid fountain – there are more useful places to share staging tips – primarily groups in LinkedIn. It seems like everyone is preaching to the choir and trying to build their Facebook Fan Page “likes.” Not that I haven’t asked folks to “like” mine, but enough is enough.

So I’ve decided to review my FB friends, and unfriend anyone who:

  • Only talks about home staging
  • Has soapbox tendencies
  • Whom I haven’t inteacted with yet
  • Who hasn’t posted in awhile
So, if you’re a stager and want to connect, see me on LinkedIn – it’s a great place to really share information!
